When S went missing, her family started searching for her. She was found on the ground, unable to move near the water tank close to their house. She was taken to the hospital immediately. Doctors confirmed that she had multiple and many serious injuries, fractures and was raped.
The accused lives near to the survivor’s house and had been raping the victim for past two months. The family was unaware of the incident and as soon as things came into light, the family acted swiftly and lodged an FIR. The survivor’s family experienced intimidation by the accused to withdraw the case. They forced and threatened the family to compromise in the case as well as tried to lure them with money to withdraw the case.
The survivor could not make a statement as she had 4 holes in her throat. She could not say how many people raped her and what happened, so only one accused was arrested.
The family demands the arrest of other accused and proper treatment of the survivor as well as police protection. The victim still needs to be operated on her two legs which are fractured.
