Lockdown Caste Atrocities – Case 07

On 12/6/2020, at Kerala village in Ahmedabad district, R and her son Suraj went to the house of the Deputy Sarpanch, who is currently in charge of the Sarpanch. They demanded payment of pending bills from Panchayat. The Deputy sarpanch Amitabhai Kolipatel got angry and slapped Suraj and threatened to kill him. Meanwhile, other Koli Patels also came to beat Suraj with sticks. The accused alson pulled out a revolver and threatened to kill them.

Police did not arrest the accused because of Corona and the accused went to the High-court and obtained a Stay Order of “No Arrest”. While the survivor did not receive any legal help or support due to Pandemic.

Survivors demanded police protection but did not get any support yet.  Police have only been deployed in the center of the village.

“The accused should be arrested immediately and their bails should be cancelled. His revolver license was immediately revoked and the police had to deposit the Revolver. The accused have been harassing many people in the village and are  antisocial elements. They also do fraud and corrupt practices in the work of Panchayat. But nobody is protesting because of the fear” – Survivor
