Amit Shah while addressing the 26th Foundation Day celebrations of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) as the chief guest said India does not have to abide by western concept of human rights. He said, traditional Indian social structures and institutions have been the inherent protectors of several human rights. Indian social structure is caste based hierarchical structure, were one caste is placed lower than other with no respect for fellow being. And home minister claiming its inherent protector is complete wrong, he should focus more on why NCRB reports dismiss figures of lynching.

Human Rights are natural rights, not eastern or western, and cannot be taken away by anyone. Constitution of India guarantees natural rights to every citizen, as advocated by UDHR and adopted by General Assembly in the year 1948.
